A runner from the county is preparing to take part in a 10k challenge to raise cash for charity.
Amy Edwards, from Morpeth, will take part in the Buga Great North 10k on Sunday, July 13, raising funds for the Multiple Sclerosis Research and Relief Fund, a local charity aiming to build a state-of-the-art hydrotherapy pool in Morpeth.
It will be one of two specialist hydrotherapy pools in the country which gives MS sufferers who have not been mobile for many years the opportunity to walk again with the use of a built-in treadmill.
Amy will be joined by 5,000 runners on a route that will take in iconic landmarks on the quayside including Sage Gateshead and the Baltic.
