Amy wins vote to be centre’s face for 2013

A 17-year-old has won the competition to be the new face of a south east Northumberland shopping centre.

Shoppers at the Keel Row in Blyth have selected Amy Newlands as the winner of the Face of Keel Row competition.

Earlier this month entrants were photographed in the centre by Halo Photography before six finalists were chosen for a public vote.

And they decided Amy was the one to lead the centre’s promotion.

She will now feature on a selection of the shopping centre’s event posters and its website for the next 12 months.

She has also won £100 worth of shopping vouchers for the centre.

Keel Row centre manager Callum Reid said: “We received a very high number of votes for Amy and I am very pleased for her.

“I would also like to take this opportunity and thank the shoppers who voted and most importantly thank the other five finalists for entering the competition.”

Amy said: “I’m so pleased about winning, I really wasn’t expecting this and it’s such a nice surprise.

“Thanks to everyone who voted for me.”
