I went to see Pearl of Africa children’s choir with my wife at the Phoenix Theatre (a great asset to the community) on Saturday, September 13.
What a splendid performance of song and dance from a group of children from Uganda.
I urge readers to go and watch their performance if they have the chance.
They are performing at Bede Academy (North) and at Morpeth Methodist church this coming week, as well as other local venues.
The children are orphans or destitute. Two thousand children are educated (and fed) in Uganda by this fantastic programme run by the Molly and Paul Childcare Foundation.
The programme is dependent on support from people in the West.
There are at least two good reasons to go and see them. The performance is joyful, uplifting and entertaining and the continuation of the programme depends on our support.
