Appeal after pedestrian injured in hit and run

Police are appealing for witnesses after a hit and run collision.

A 35-year-old man was walking in the rear of Gatacre Street, Blyth, near to Boots the chemist at around 8.30am on Friday, January 22, when he was hit by a small red car.

The vehicle made off without stopping.

The man suffered an injury but declined medical treatment.

Officers are investigating the incident and are carrying out house to house enquiries and are appealing for witnesses.

Three men have been arrested on suspicion of assault and are currently helping police with their enquiries.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
