IN reference to Coun Ken Ellis (News Post Leader, letters, August 2), there are two areas of Cowpen estate in Blyth which I am sure could be used as allotments.
The field off Axwell Drive which is surrounded by houses, and the field off Rookery Close / Redesdale Place, at the moment waist high with grass and used for dumping rubbish.
It is meant for children to use but very few do.
I am sure there are other areas around Blyth which could be used as allotments if they were only cleared first.
Perhaps the council could look into this.
