A popular arts centre in south east Northumberland has received a community grant of £1,000.
BT has awarded Seaton Delaval Arts Centre funding that recognises the facility’s commitment to art and heritage in the local community.
The money has been approved through the company’s employee recognition scheme, the BT People Awards, which acknowledges volunteering heroes who offer their time and skills to help people in their area.
The centre’s managing director Mark Pringle said: “Our building houses a vibrant community lead theatre and arts centre.
“We are staffed entirely by a dedicated team of volunteers, which means all the profit is ploughed back into the centre to enhance our provision.
“Without volunteers we could not exist.
Volunteering is a special thing someone can do and we are eternally grateful for the dedicated team who give many hours to keep our building open for the community.”
