STAFF at an Ashington supermarket have done their bit to tackle litter louts as part of a nationwide clean-up initiative.
Ten employees took part in Asda’s Big Litter Pick on Tuesday at the store’s old site in Lintonville, Ashington.
Brian Smith, fresh food trading manager at the store, said he is delighted with the staffs’ efforts.
He said: “It went very well. It’s a company initiative and a national event.
“There are 360 Asda stores and depots around the UK taking part in the litter pick in their chosen areas.
“It’s all part of the Asda in the Community initiative.”
