A HEALTH centre in Ashington, which provides support for women and girls, is on the look out for new members.
The Women’s Health Advice Centre (WHAC) in Council Road, is looking to recruit volunteer counsellors from all areas of the county to join their team.
Potential counsellors would need to be at least in their first year of a foundation degree in counselling or already qualified.
Those with an interest or experience in working with younger girls, sexual abuse and domestic violence would also be welcome.
In addition, candidates would go through a recruitment and selection process and complete a six week training course.
On successful completion, volunteer counsellors will be required to offer a minimum of three counselling sessions a week either at the Ashington centre or at an outreach venue.
The centre is also looking to recruit board members with an interest in women’s health,
