Students from the county have been rewarded for their achievements in education.
Astley Community High School students Alex Griffin, Loren Martin, Lauren Brown and Emily Streener, won awards as part of Teesside University’s ‘Passport’ scheme that aims to encourage students to progress from further to higher education.
Student progress leader Paddy Drought said: “The Teesside Passport Pride evening was a triumph for Astley. Of the 12 categories available, Astley won four.
“Lauren, Loren, Emily and Alex, all demonstrated that hard work and embracing opportunities pays off.
“I am incredibly proud of their achievements.”
Executive headteacher John Barnses said: “I am extremely proud of these students.
“They represent the attitudes and qualities that I want all the students to have at Astley, and are a credit not only to themselves but also to their familes and the school.”
