Staff at Manor Walks Shopping Centre in Cramlington have put their best feet forward to take part in a walking challenge.

Between them, staff clocked up nearly 740 miles on foot during the challenge, which was organised by Go Smarter to Work, the North East sustainable travel programme which encourages people to use sustainable and active methods of travel to get to and from work.

Andy Chymera from Go Smarter to Work, said: “We organised a week-long challenge to see which team of Manor Walks staff could cover the largest number of miles on foot.

“We want to help build a fitter, healthier workforce and the challenge was a great way to get everyone involved.”

Vikki Mather, from Manor Walks, said: “The teams have all enjoyed taking part in the challenge, it has really motivated them into walking more and is something we will definitely look to hold again next year.”
