A county bowling club has held a Dawn to Dusk bowls marathon to raise money for charity.
Members of Newbiggin-by-the-Sea Bowling Club took part in the event, which involved playing bowls from 4am to 10pm in aid of the Great North Air Ambulance.
Club secretary Geoff Thompson said: “We chose the Great North Air Ambulance as the committee thought it a worthwhile cause.”
As well as taking part in the bowling, the ladies’ section of the club provided home baked food, a tombola stall and raffle, helping to raise £625 for the charity.
Mandy Drake, from the air ambulance, said: “We want to thank the organisers and everyone who supported the event. We are truly grateful.”
