Residents picked up a free item to help prevent the waste of a much-loved British staple at a Cramlington shopping centre.

In a recent weekend initiative, those who went along to Manor Walks were able to get a Loafsaver bread clip from a team of Loafguards in red and yellow attire.

Loafsavers is a scheme by the Love Food Hate Waste campaign – run by the charity WRAP (the Waste & Resources Action Programme) – to try to reduce the amount of bread slices that are thrown away across the UK each day.

It is being supported by some celebrities, including The Only Way is Essex star Georgia Kousoulou.
