There’s a big day at a newly restored church as it plays host to a wedding fair.

St Mark’s Church in Newbiggin by the Sea has recently re-opened after being restored by its new owners.

The fair is a great way to help brides plan for their very special day.

And the community setting is hoping to prove the perfect setting for a wedding fair this weekend.

Brides-to-be can find everything from vintage gowns to cars and favours at the event, with specialist businesses from across the region attending.

Enid Wilson, secretary of Newbiggin by the Sea Traders’ Association said: “It’s important to have the chance to explore ideas when planning your big day so we thought it would be a great idea to hold this event.

“The fair is a great way to help brides plan for their very special day. I have had a sneak preview of some of the bridal gowns and mother-of-the-bride outfits so I am sure visitors will be delighted by what will be on show.”

The fair takes place on Saturday, from 10am to 4pm. Admission costs £2.
