A county teenager will be showing her true colours next month as she takes part in the region’s first ever powdered paint 5k run.
Brooke Pritchard, 16, from Ashington, is preparing to take part in St Oswald’s Kaleidoscope 5k charity fundraiser.
Brooke, who has just left Ashington High School after completing her GCSE exams, will join more than 900 participants being showered with brightly-coloured powdered paint.
The emphasis is on fun, so participants can walk, run, hop, dance or skip the route, and all proceeds will go to St Oswald’s Hospice.
“I was really excited when I heard about the Kaleidoscope 5K, as it’s something I had never done before,” she said.
“The idea of being sprayed with the coloured paint sounded fun and a bit different, so I thought ‘why not’?”
