A Cramlington-based furniture company is not sitting still as it goes back to the classroom.

Soft furnishings designer and manufacturer The Bazaar Group has launched a new brand of educational soft seating, designed to inspire a love of learning.

The in-house product team behind the new brand, Eden Learning Spaces, worked with educational establishments to develop the specialist range of products.

Following research and development, the cross-curricular themed bean-filled and foam-filled seating has also been designed to be used as engaging tools with the aim of creating ‘inspirational educational environments’.

Eden Learning Spaces managing director Mark Dolder said: “Our extensive soft seating range provides a fresh approach to the educational environment by creating a relaxed yet engaging atmosphere that encourages participation.”

Product manager Allison Chatten said: “We had a lot of fun creating some of the more quirky products such as our giant friendly-faced octopus bean bag and the more realistic looking woodland tree stump stool bean bags.

“The sensory range is particularly interesting as these have been developed to use in tandem with other sensory products such as bubble tubes and ultra violet lit rooms.

“Outdoor classrooms have also become increasingly popular which is why the vast majority of the range is made in 100 per cent waterproof durable polyester fabric, so children can enjoy the benefits of the outdoors whilst learning.”

The Bazaar Group, based at Easter Park, Nelson Park West, launched Eden Learning Spaces at the Education Show at Birmingham NEC.

Mark added: “The animated reaction from learners of all ages when they first see the products is really inspiring to see, so we are excited to learn the full of extent of how our products will impact teachers’ work across the UK.”
