DEVELOPERS set to invest more than £250m in south east Northumberland have joined forces to find takers for numerous contracts up for grabs.
A supply chain event is being held next Thursday to give details of the contracts available and how to tender for them.
The event will run from 9am to 12.30pm at the Holiday Inn in Seaton Burn.
The Arch Group, AkzoNobel, Bernicia and Northumberland County Council and the National Renewable Energy Centre (Narec) will be represented.
AkzoNobel and Sir Robert McAlpine, the builder it has taken on to build its planned £100m factory at Ashwood Business Park in Ashington, will be looking for various suppliers.
The Bernicia housing group, currently having a new headquarters built in Ashington, is drawing up plans for investment of £64m over the next five years, including constructing another 228 new homes and refurbishing others.
Contract opportunities it has on offer include ones for building, property maintenance, waste management and roofing.
Peter McIntyre, group managing director for Arch, said: “We plan to invest over £70m in housing and commercial property developments over the next three years.
“The combined value of all the contracts presented at the event will be a tremendous boost to our economy, and we would like to see local people and businesses benefiting from these new opportunities.”
