A number of fares on Arriva North East buses in Northumberland are set to rise from Sunday.

Changes are being made to some of the services, including in south east Northumberland.

Triple tickets for Morpeth, Ashington, Blyth and Tyneside zones will rise for one zone from £4.10 to £4.20 for daily, weekly £16.30 to £16.80, four-weekly £65 to £67; two zones daily from £5.50 to £5.70, weekly £21.50 to £22, four-weekly £86.00 to £88.00; and all zones will increase for one zone from £6.70 to £6.90 daily, £25 to £25.50 weekly, and no change for a four-weekly ticket.

The Cramlington to Newcastle Super Saver will rise from £4.50 to £4.70 for a day ticket, £16 to £16.50 for a weekly ticket and a four-weekly ticket will rise from £63 to £65.

Nick Knox, area managing director for Arriva North East, said: “We are committed to providing value for money fares and high service standards. However, continuing inflationary cost pressures mean that we need to revise some fares this January.

“We recognise that the current economic climate is tough for all, and therefore we have kept any increases to a minimum, with many fares remaining unchanged.”
