Free advice on offer for new business start-ups

Start-up businesses and emerging entrepreneurs are to be given the greatest chance of success thanks to Business Northumberland.

The scheme is offering up to 12 hours of one-to-one adviser support with its top business specialists.

Business Northumberland is a new free service providing advice and support to anyone thinking about starting a business or those who already have a new business based in Northumberland.

The adviser team, which comprises of experts Ken Arnold, Ian Coull and Paul Brown, will provide hands on support and professional advice to ensure each business or business model reaches its full potential for success.

Each has extensive experience working with businesses of all sizes within all sectors.

Mr Coull said: “We provide hands on support helping clients to achieve their goals.

“We identify areas for improvement and use our expertise and knowledge to help develop the ideas unique to each client, ensuring that opportunities are maximised to encourage business sustainability.”

Those eligible for the service include individuals looking to start up a business in a key sector including, advanced manufacturing and engineering, pharmaceuticals, knowledge intensive business services, food and drink, tourism, and energy.

Other qualifying factors include businesses with the potential for high growth, forecasted to achieve a turnover of £500,000, or those set to employ five or more staff within three years of trading. This will allow up to three hours of free adviser support.

Also entitled are high growth start-up businesses within their first 12 months trading and based in south east Northumberland.

Those working within a key sector or which are trading prominently business to business will have up to 12 hours free business support available to them.

Businesses who take up this offer can expect to have answers to valuable business questions from sourcing finance, marketing your business to choosing the right premises.
