A technology company is planning to create more than a dozen jobs as it continues to expand.

Tynetec has doubled its production and warehousing capacity by taking over new promises close to its existing headquarters in Blyth’s Cowley Road.

The company, set up over 30 years ago, designs and manufactures warden call systems and other technology products used in the care sector.

Its new 10,000sq ft warehouse and production facility has been opened to cope with demand for products including its latest Reach telecare alarm unit.

Bosses at the firm believe its ongoing expansion will generate both jobs and apprenticeship opportunities and expect to take on up to 15 extra staff over the next 12 months.

Richard Evans, its operations director, said: “We are delighted to be continuing our expansion programme and are now in the position to expand our facility in Blyth.

“Tynetec focuses on developing outstanding, innovative and user-inspired products that deliver tomorrow’s technology today, and the new facility will double our production capability.

“It is also exciting for the local business community as we will be recruiting a mix of semi-skilled and skilled technicians to staff the new facility.”
