A NEW business leader has been appointed to help firms in the renewable energy market, including one based in Blyth.
Dr John Forrest CBE is the new chairman of Narec Capital – the joint venture between the National Renewable Energy Centre (Narec) in Blyth and London-based investment specialists Ashberg Limited.
He will bring more than four decades of industry expertise to the role, which aims to unlock fresh opportunities for renewable energy firms.
Narec Capital aims to revolutionise current investment by reducing the risk of investing in new projects and technologies, whilst increasing capital flow through a mix of engineering and financial expertise.
Dr Forrest said: “I am truly delighted to be part of this new enterprise at a time when innovation in technology and finance can come together for the wealth creation that is so vital to the UK.”
Narec chairman, Dr Alan Rutherford, said he was delighted with the new appointment.
“I welcome John and am sure his experience and drive will bring immediate and sustained benefits to this joint venture between Narec and Ashberg,” he said.
