David takes on site manager role
A CRAMLINGTON factory has a new role for one of its senior staff.
David Leaver has been promoted to site manager at the Aesica site, which is responsible for Aesica’s Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients’ (API) production.
The 42-year-old, who lives in Whitley Bay, will lead a team of more than 130 staff.
David said: “The Cramlington site is a world leader in the production of the anti-inflammatory Flurbiprofen which makes this an incredibly exciting time to take on a senior position within Aesica.
“Our recently announced strategic partnership in the controlled drugs arena with Noramco is a taste of things to come and my mandate is to realise our growth potential in the API field.”
David, who has more than 20 years experience in the pharma industry, has been with Aesica from its inception in 2004, playing a pivotal role in its growth.
Kevin Cook, managing director of Aesica’s API division, said: “Having been part of the Cramlington site since the very beginning, David has grown with the company as it has expanded globally and adapted to the changing API landscape.
“There’s no-one better placed to lead our API facility.”
