The event, organised by Northumberland County Council’s public protection service, featured an exhibition, business and hygiene seminars and cooking demonstrations.
There was an opening address by Lord Curry of Kirkharle, chair of the Royal Veterinary College, who has been involved in overseeing the government’s strategy for sustainable farming and food.
Coun Anita Romer, executive member for health and public protection, said: “This one day event is the third of its kind organised by Northumberland County Council and aims to inspire caterers with lots of practical ideas to help businesses improve not only the food they offer, but also their profitability.”
