Hays Travel’s new Morpeth branch has come out on top in a national customer service survey.

Marie Conroy, Assistant Manager of the Market Place travel agent, was awarded a score of 92 per cent, the highest in the country, after being checked out by a mystery shopper working for by Travel Trade Gazette.

The mystery shopper described the branch as “warm and inviting” and praised Marie for offering a “personal and bespoke package”.

Branch Manager Kaye Clyne said: “I am so proud of Marie. She provides this excellent service for each and every client, which has really helped us build a strong customer base here in Morpeth.”

The Morpeth branch opened in September and was given its official launch in November at a ceremony including an appearance by Metro Radio presenters Steve Furnell and Karen Wight.

The gazette’s mystery shopper process involves simulating a realistic booking process and considers price, product, customer service, sales process and travel extras provided by agents and operators both online and on the high street.
