The man responsible for one of the busiest shopping centres in the county has been honoured for his work.
Mark Dransfield was chosen as the winner of the Outstanding Contribution category, sponsored by NBSL, in recognition of his work at the Sanderson Arcade in Morpeth’s town centre.
Judges at the Northumberland Business Awards were keen to acknowledge his work over the years at the centre, which underwent a major refurbishment in 2009 costing £32m.
Mr Dransfield, managing director of Dransfield Properties, said: “It was a lovely surprise to hear I had been put forward for this award and it will be taking pride of place in my office, it means a great deal as it comes from the community we have worked in.
“Delivering a development like Sanderson Arcade is of course a huge team effort, I’m sure that everyone at our company and within the professional team who has worked on the project will be as delighted as I am to be recognised in this way.
“Morpeth is a beautiful market town and we have sought from the outset to work in partnership with the wider community in delivering Sanderson Arcade and the supermarket development as well as the more recent markets project.
“We are fortunate to have worked with some fantastic stakeholders groups and individuals in the town who have a great passion and vision for Morpeth and we look forward to continuing to build on those relationships.”
