Technology developed by a Cramlington company is helping to drive environmental improvements at a transport and distribution firm.

Mandata Ltd has been working with Consett-based Elddis Transport to implement software including its Manpack3 transport management system to help manage costs, simplify operations and reduce its carbon footprint.

Manpack3 has been developed specifically for haulage operators and brings together information into a single PC-based system linked to vehicle and driver PDAs.

It allows management to monitor a range of indicators includes vehicle performance, driver behaviour and fuel usage.

Richard Toner, Elddis Transport’s commercial manager, said: “Manpack3 is a major asset to our business, delivering wide-ranging benefits.”
