An entrepreneur has launched a specialist tile showroom thanks to the help he received from Business Northumberland.

Neil Turney launched Turney Tiles after attending a free ‘Start Your Business’ event in April.

And Business Northumberland is set to host the follow-up event on Saturday, at Blyth Leisure Centre.

There will be a key note speech from author and Sage business expert Paul Wakefield.

Following intensive support from Business Northumberland in the form of workshops and coaching, Neil has now set up his own tiles showroom in Blyth which is open to both trade and the public.

The showroom, located in Blyth Riverside Business Park, has been in use since June and the company has already employed its first member of staff.

Neil said: “Business Northumberland was a brilliant starting point.

“The Business Northumberland master classes were invaluable and steered me in the right direction.

“The advisors were friendly and always available whether that was face to face or over the phone to answer any questions I had.

“I could not have asked for more help from Business Northumberland.”

The free Business Northumberland workshops attended by Neil helped give him an insight into social media and marketing which has already led to thorough promotion of the company.

Neil previously worked as a self-employed tiler before launching Turney Tiles.
