A new bottled water brand being manufactured in Morpeth has been showcased at a top business event.
The recently-launched glacéau smartwater, made from spring water sourced in Northumberland, is being manufactured and bottled at the Coca-Cola Enterprises (CCE) factory in Morpeth.
The company is investing £3.5m to update the site’s production lines and introduce new water treatment processes.
And the product was selected to be part of the north east stand at the recent ‘Made in the UK’ exhibition in Liverpool.
Coun Dave Ledger, deputy leader of Northumberland County Council and Arch Group chairman, said: “The Made in the UK exhibition and conference aims to celebrate the very best of innovative manufacturing taking place in Britain today and Coca-Cola’s new glacéau smartwater is the perfect representation of this.
“We are extremely proud to be able to showcase this best-selling global product on our stand and demonstrate the strength of Northumberland as a centre for manufacturing excellence.
“Visitors from all around the world attended and this is a first class opportunity for them to see our partnerships, expertise and products.”
CCE is investing in staff training and development to help the workforce at Morpeth develop their career skills.
