ZODIAC Training has joined the line-up of sponsors giving their backing to this year’s Northumberland Business Awards.

Founded in 1996, Zodiac Training is one of the largest, most successful private training providers in the UK, with 140 staff and offices throughout the north east.

Rated good by Ofsted and outstanding by the government’s Framework for Excellence, they offer a wide-range of training, qualifications and apprenticeships in areas such as Health and Social Care, Child Care, Management, IT, Customer Service, Sales and Retail.

Zodiac Training have joined the Northumberland Business Awards as sponsors of a brand new category for 2011 – the Apprenticeship Award – which is designed to recognise and celebrate employers who are committed to developing their workforce through apprenticeships.

The awards will culminate with a prize-giving ceremony at Linden Hall near Morpeth on Thursday, November 17.

With more than 15 years of experience in delivering apprenticeships, Zodiac Training knows how beneficial they are to both employers and employees. They are currently working with over 600 companies across the region and have enabled more than and 1,600 individuals to achieve an Apprenticeship in the last 12 months.

Managing director Jon Smith said: “We are delighted to be involved in the Northumberland Business Awards and to have worked with Northeast Press on the creation of the new Apprenticeship Award.

“I hope that the award captures the imagination of businesses that are currently committed to apprenticeships and gives pause for thought to those employers who have not yet tapped into the real business benefits apprenticeships offer.

“We are very much looking forward to reading stories of success which demonstrate that apprenticeships have enabled businesses to improve, grow or perhaps even survive in the current climate.”

The Northumberland Business Awards 2011 are supported by the News Post Leader and our sister titles the Morpeth Herald, Northumberland Gazette, and The Berwick Advertiser.
