Members of staff from a county care home have taken part in a special charity event to raise money to improve the premises.
Staff including an administrator, personal activity leaders, a chef and a care assistant at The Oaks care home in Blyth took part in a sponsored bike ride to raise funds.
The staff got on their bikes and cycled from the home in Durban Street to St Mary’s Lighthouse in Whitley Bay.
Kelly Lyons, personal activity leader at the home, said: “We raised £30 on the day in our bucket and hope to raise over £300 more in sponsorship money, which we hope to use to purchase some new garden seating.
“It was an excellent day and we are really pleased with how well everyone did and how much we have raised.”
