A charity supporting disadvantaged youngsters has been given a cash boost.
Brian Rudd, provincial secretary of Freemasons of Northumberland, has donated £1,000 to LookwideUK, the development wing of Northumberland County Scout Council.
The scheme, which has now been running successfully for over ten years, supports disadvantaged young people in the county.
Chair Gwyn McKenzie said: “LookwideUK believe in life-long learning and we do our best to make learning fun for those that may not have enjoyed school.
“We design ‘development programmes’ not one-off ‘quick fixes’, to meet the needs and interests of the young people involved.
“It costs us approximately £500 to support one young person for one term so we are greatly indebted to the Freemason’s in Northumberland.”
