A COMMUNITY organisation has received a financial boost towards its fundraising target to replace a minibus.
TalkTalk has agreed to sponsor the Lynemouth Community Trust for the next 12 months, where funding will be used towards ongoing fundraising activities to replace the community minibus with a new and improved bus which will have a lift.
The telecommunications company is also investing £50,000 in technology in the area, to bring best value broadband offers to Lynemouth, Cresswell and Ellington to give customers access to fast, reliable broadband services.
A resource centre was set up by the trust, offering a large function room and several smaller offices that are used to give numeracy, literacy and IT training to help people find employment.
Andrew Gooding, from the resource centre, said: “The Lynemouth Community Trust van provides a vital service of meals on wheels to local people and we are busy fundraising to purchase a new vehicle with a lift on it, and this money will be so helpful to us to achieve that.
“The support from TalkTalk has been fantastic and has included tickets to the X-Factor tour which we raffled to raise even more money.
“The funding is a real boost to the trust and the local area.”
TalkTalk commercial director Tristia Clarke said: “Investing in the local area allows us to bring our great value offers to even more families in the area and we are proud to be supporting the fantastic work being done by the Lynemouth Community Trust.
“They are at the heart of the community and we wish them every success with their endeavours over the coming months.”
