A not-for-profit housing provider’s care and repair service has completed more than 12,500 jobs in the last year as part of £4m worth of improvements across the county.
Four Housing’s Care & Repair Handyperson service is focused on improving the safety of vulnerable people across Northumberland, including those who are aged over 60, disabled or at risk of falling.
Ashington resident Joyce Crouth, who used the service, said: “I was very independent until I was diagnosed with osteoporosis and a balance problem. The handyperson service is absolutely fantastic.
“Small things like having someone help to hang curtains and change lamp shades can make a big difference.”
