Staff from a home improvement firm have walked part of the Pennine Way to raise money for charity.

Six members of staff from Pennine Home Improvements were accompanied by family and friends to walk a nine mile stretch of Britain’s oldest National Trail, starting at Steel Rigg to raise more than £1,600 for their chosen charity of the year, the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS).

Senior installations team member Gary Davies, from Blyth, Gary’s brother Steve Davies, from Cramlington, and two of his friends, Terry Slater and Derek Hamilton, also from Cramlington, were joined by managing director Graham Auld, head of marketing Nusheen Hussain and surveyor Peter Greathead, and others as they rambled along Hadrian’s Wall.

Nusheen said: “We chose to support GNAAS as our charity of the year for 2015 as their work is invaluable to people in the region.

“We’re hoping to raise much more money for them.”
