A shopping centre is giving local charities the opportunity to get their hands on £5,000 as part of its community bursary scheme.
Cramlington’s Manor Walks Shopping and Leisure Centre is offering visitors the chance to place their chosen charity in the running to receive substantial funding from the Hammerson Local Community Bursary, which will award a £5,000 grant to one local organisation.
Any registered charities working across Northumberland with a focus on children and young people, health or local regeneration of community infrastructures and facilities, can be nominated.
Centre general manager Bruno Coppola said: “Our community bursary scheme offers a fantastic opportunity for one Northumberland charity to receive essential funding that will make a genuine difference to their work and to the communities which it supports.
“We’re very excited to hear all about the amazing work which is being delivered in the area and we’d like to encourage our loyal customers to get involved by nominating their favourite local charity.”
The 2013 beneficiary, Blyth Valley Scout District, used the cash to purchase new camping and sports equipment.
