THREE charities have received a cash boost thanks to generous supermarket shoppers in Blyth.

Workers at Asda in Cowpen Road presented a cheque of £100 to Charlie Bear Cancer Care after it received the most votes in the store’s green coin scheme.

The runner-ups were Blyth and District Talking Newspaper and Silx Teen Bar, who received £25 each.

This was the sixth cheque presentation to be held as part the store’s Community Life campaign.
