TWO charities have benefited from a series of fundraising events held at a holiday park near Morpeth.

Owners and staff at Park Resorts Cresswell Towers, in Cresswell, handed over cheques for £200 each to Dyslexia North East and Help for Heroes.

Representatives from both charities attended a special charity night to receive the cheques and thank everyone for their hard work.

The money was raised during events for the Royal Wedding, themed nights, pamper nights and more, all organised by the owners and supported by the management of Park Resorts.

And over the forthcoming Bank Holiday weekend the site will host more events from pony rides, teacups, football matches, roll a penny, hog roasts and more.

All money raised will go towards purchasing a specialised wheelchair for a young girl on the site.
