A CHARITY supporting the vital work of a hospital unit is preparing to take over a racecourse.
The Children’s Heart Unit Fund (CHUF) at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle has teamed up with Newcastle Racecourse for the second year running as part of the now annual CHUF charity race night on Friday, August 24.
Limited tables are available in the Park View Suite, and some seating in the boxes, with prices either £150 each or £1,500 for a table of ten.
Tickets will include a champagne reception with some local celebrities, seven races with top tote Colin Brown, the Grand Buffet, disco and dancing with local band Hip Operation.
Auction prizes include a Lee Westwood signed shirt from the Seve Ballasteros Trophy, a day in a Boeing 747 simulator with the lead singer of Iron Maiden Bruce Dickinson, a Golf Day at Close House Hotel and Golf for up to 24 people, and a box for ten with hospitality at York Races.
All money raised will help the unit buy new equipment and help save the lives of young children as they undergo heart operations.
