A charity is embarking on a quest to raise £6,000 to help buy a Northumberland youngster a specially trained dog.
The Angels of the North is raising the funds under the banner of ‘Harry’s Shadow’, for three-year-old Harry Box, from Seaton Sluice, who suffers from autistic spectrum disorder and sensory disorder.
Harry has been learning the picture exchange system to give him a way of asking for things by pictures.
Service Dogs Europe offers children like Harry specialist trained dogs to help with daily battles.
A fully-trained dog costs £6,090 and will remain with Harry during his developing years and beyond.
