CRAMLINGTON’S Manor Walks shopping centre and town councillors have joined together to hold a Christmas market believed to be the first of its kind ever staged in the town.
Taking place this weekend, it will offer a range of stocking fillers and gift ideas in the form of home-made and hand-crafted products created by both local and international suppliers.
The event will also see the town’s Christmas lights switched on in Smithy Square at 5.30pm.
Town council vice-chairman Susan Johnston said: “This is just what Cramlington has been waiting for – its first-ever traditional Christmas market.
“I’m sure it will go down well with the community and bring people in from further afield.”
Manor Walks centre manager Bruno Coppola said: “It is exciting to be able to host our first-ever Christmas market in Manor Walks.
“It will bring a sense of festivity to the community.”
