A sports club is appealing to the public to help it land up to £25,000 of funding.
Blyth Cricket and Rugby Football Club has applied to the Aviva Community Fund for a grant which would then provide additional floodlighting to enable 250 children to play sport at the club every week.
It would also provide a hard surface path and hard standing area next to the pitch to aid wheelchair access.
The club needs people to vote to help it secure a spot in the final where a judging panel will decide who receives the funding. You can vote at https://community-fund.aviva.co.uk/voting/project/view/16-1748
Jimmy Halsius, one of the youth section club coaches, said: “This money will enable us to provide a safe and lit training environment for hundreds of children and adults every week. ”
The closing date for votes is November 18.
