College in the mobile market with a new app

NORTHUMBERLAND College has launched a new mobile application for smartphone users.

The free app gives access to information and photos on all of the college’s centres across Northumberland.

Students, parents and visitors can also get directions to the campuses with interactive maps, keep up-to-date with events and get advice and support.

Prospective students can search the range of courses on offer and apply for them directly from their smartphone, whilst current students can connect with Blackboard to communicate with tutors and access assignments and timetables.

Principal Chris Todd said: “The app in another communication method to allow us to make information accessible to people wanting to find out about our courses and campuses.

“We are in a generation of growing digital communication and it is important we meet the needs of our potential and current learners with the media they can relate to.”

The app has recently went live on Apple’s iTunes and will be available from the Android Market soon.
