STAFF at a housebuilder are celebrating after ‘remarkable’ sales figures for 2010.
Barratt North East sold homes worth £25m in the final six months of the year ended, hitting its own internal targets and showing that demand for homes in the region remains strong.
Fenton Hewitt, sales director, said: “We are proud of our reputation for building high quality homes in great locations which has enabled us to perform strongly, despite the uncertainty about the wider economy at the moment.
“It is clear that plenty of customers think now is a great time to take their next step on the property ladder.
“Prices are lower than they were in 2007 and interest rates are low too, which means rock-bottom mortgage repayments.
“It’s a great result for the last six months.
“Since the start of the New Year we have been extremely busy, with inquiries significantly up on this time last year and more than £4.5m worth of sales in three weeks.
“We’re hoping for continued success and many more satisfied customers in 2011.”
Barratt has a range of development across the north east, including at Horton Park in Blyth.
