Northumberland County Council is hosting its third annual countywide forum for landlords and agents.
The event is being held on Wednesday, October 2, at West Hartford Fire and Rescue HQ and is open to all landlords and agents operating across Northumberland.
Topics covered on the day will include: Warm Up North and the Green Deal; Northumbrian Water’s website and services to landlords; topical issues for the private rented sector; a topical tax update; equality for landlords; home fire safety; and housing and welfare reform.
The information gained from last year’s event suggested that the forum should be expanded to include more trade stands as part of a daylong event and so this year’s forum will run from 10am to 4.30pm.
Key speakers include Richard Lambert, chief executive of the National Landlords Association. Mr Lambert will deliver a keynote speech discussing the opportunities for private landlords to expand their businesses.
Councillor Allan Hepple, policy board member for planning, housing and regeneration, said: “As a council, we are committed to supporting landlords in the pursuit of raising living standards for all residents.
“Events such as this show our dedication to providing practical advice and help to landlords, as well as listening to their concerns and issues. We can all work together to improve the living situation for Northumberland residents.”
Lunch is provided.
