An Ashington car dealer marked nine years at his Newbiggin Road premises with a ‘buy one get one free offer’.

And Morpeth couple Graham Carter and Mandy Armstrong took Alyn Brewis up on his offer, purchasing a 2009 Peugeot 107 and getting a 2004 Daewoo Matiz for nothing.

Alyn said: “I was looking for something different to celebrate Alyn Brewis Nice Cars being here for nine years, something that would really catch people’s attention, so I asked my Facebook friends to come up with their best or most outrageous suggestion for a promotion.

“’BOGOF’ offers are common place with replacement windows, or in supermarket aisles, but I had never seen it done in the motor trade.”

Graham was in the market for a car having had his written-off, and having been recommended to Alyn by his nephew, came to have a look around.

Mandy owns Dog Grooming At Megs, in Coopies Lane industrial estate, Morpeth, and she is going to utilise the free Matiz.

She has another vehicle, but says she will be using the Matiz as a ‘dog free’ car for her business.

Alyn is now wondering how to better the offer for his tenth anniversary next year.
