Northumberland County Council is reminding adults of the range of training, learning and development opportunities it provides.

With more than 400 courses available across 11 dedicated learning centres in the county, residents have the opportunity to build upon existing knowledge, learn something new or develop their skills through an apprenticeship.

They are open to people over 16 years at any stage of their learning journey and for the first time, they are also available throughout the summer.

They enable people to identify skills they would like to gain and potentially find a new passion.

The courses fall into three categories. Fresh start programmes help boost employability and skills-based courses are based on work-related training.

The access to higher education offerings are available to over 19s who want to progress to a degree in social care or education.

Caroline Tulett, head of employability and skills at the county council, said: “The range of courses offered through the adult learning centres as part of their summer programme are open for all to get involved and we have a great team of people to help you get the learning you deserve.”
