THREE televisions were among hauls worth thousands of pounds stolen from two homes in Ashington at the weekend.
The two houses, both in Sycamore Street, were targeted on Friday and Saturday.
Between 6.30pm and 7.15pm on Friday, burglars broke into a house and stole two Samsung televisions, one 50in and the other 32in.
Then the next day, between 10am and 6pm on Saturday, burglars stole a 32in TV, white LG mobile phone, wooden jewellery box, MP3 player and jewellery.
Superintendent Mick Paterson said: “With less than a week to go to Christmas, coming home to find your house has been broken into and your belongings stolen is heartbreaking.
“We want people to be extremely vigilant, this week especially, as we know there are thieves looking for opportunities to break into houses in the Ashington area and take whatever they can from inside.
“Make sure that you lock your doors and windows.”
