Couple defy razor blade threat during attempted robbery

A WOULD-be robber armed with a razor blade targeted a couple in a Blyth street, demanding cash from them.

The would-be robber’s victims, a man and woman, were near the junction of Briardale Road and Callerdale Road when he confronted them, brandishing a razor blade.

They refused to hand over any cash, however, forcing the budding thief to flee empty-handed.

No one was injured during the incident.

Police have arrested a man in connection with the robbery bid.

Any potential witnesses able to offer information on the failed robbery are asked to call officers on 03456 043043 ext 69191.
