Cyclist knocked over in hit and run

A cyclist was knocked off his bike in Cramlington at the weekend when a car swerved and hit him and then drove off.

Around 3.45pm on Sunday, May 5, a man was cycling along Station Road when a black car swerved causing him to fall from the bike.

The car left the scene without stopping and the cyclist had to attend hospital for treatment to a large cut on his arm.

In the moments after the incident another car pulled up and checked on the cyclist.

Officers would like to speak to the driver and passengers of this car as they might have information that could help with enquiries.
