Hairdressing gear stolen in break-in

EQUIPMENT and cash were stolen from an Ashington hairdressing salon by burglars.

Adeline’s Hair Studio, in North Seaton Road, was broken into between 5pm last Wednesday and 8.45am the day after.

Thieves stole two sets of Wahl hair clippers, styling gel, hairspray, serum, wax and a small amount of cash.

Ashington Neighbourhood Inspector Jackie Coleman said: “The thieves have stolen a large amount of stock from the hairdressers, and I’d appeal for anyone who saw any suspicious vehicles or people in North Seaton Road to contact police.

“We’ve had a number of hairdressers’ premises targeted in south east Northumberland over recent months, and I’d appeal to shop owners to help us deter thieves by making sure that their premises are locked and secured, alarms are installed and set, and that all valuables are locked away overnight, if kept on the premises.

“If you want any advice on crime prevention, then get in touch with your neighbourhood policing team, and we’ll arrange a visit from trained crime prevention advisers.

“I’d also ask for anyone who is offered any of the stolen items for sale not to buy them and to contact police immediately.”

Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 03456 043043 ext 69191 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
