Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was stabbed in Northumberland.

At around 2.45pm today, police received a report that a 40-year-old man had been stabbed in Blyth.

Emergency services attended and the man was taken to hospital via the air ambulance with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

Inquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances around the incident and police are appealing for any witnesses to the attack to get in touch.
